Lash Tech Mode and the Style Studio lashes are two different systems
Makeup Mania has two lash systems and they open from different places. Players mix them up: a comment under the 12 October 2026 recording listed in the sources asks why clicking Lashes shows lashes "that i can buy for ur avatar" instead of the station in the video. That is the Style Studio tab. The clusters sit behind a different button.
| System | Where it opens | What you work with | Pick it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lash Tech Mode | Lash Tech Mode on the bottom bar, beside Wipe and Blender |
A close-up of both eyes and numbered cluster presets you place, scale, rotate and mirror yourself | The theme is about how the eyes read, or you want a set no ready-made item provides |
| Style Studio lashes | Hair & Lashes on the bottom bar, or the lashes tool on the left rail, then the Lashes tab |
Finished 3D lash items you try on and fit with Adjust Fit |
You want lashes on the face in a few clicks and the round clock is already short |
The one-line rule: build clusters when the prompt is about the eye, and take an item from the Lashes tab when it is not.
Opening the lash station
- Look along the bottom bar, not the left rail.
Lash Tech Modesits with the global controls. The left rail is the makeup tool list, and it has no cluster station on it. The control map lays that bar out beside the two side panels. - Press it. The view cuts to a close-up of both eyes with the face filling the screen. In the 12 October recording the model lies back and the camera looks down from above.
- Read the row before you place anything. The lash controls sit at the bottom of that close-up, and the paint panel is gone while you are in it.
- Paint the face first. The long recordings open the station mid-round, after the base, the shadow and the liner, and none of them shows the paint tools staying available inside the close-up. The 43-second recording skips straight in, which is the way to try the station without spending round time.
The way out is Back to Makeup, the button in the top-right corner of the close-up. The 12 October 2026 build's own help text calls it Back to Makeup: save & return and the 16 October build's calls it Back to Makeup to finish, so leaving the station keeps the set rather than discarding it.
That help line also lists keyboard shortcuts, and they move between builds. The 12 October one reads R / Shift + R: rotate, T: bigger / Y: smaller, Scroll: resize; the 16 October one drops the keys and says Pinch to resize. Use the on-screen buttons if the keys do nothing in your session.
What each control in the row does
The row is small and its labels have already changed once between builds, so read what your own screen says. These are the labels the October 2026 recordings show.
- Numbered cluster presets.
Cluster 1throughCluster 10in both the 12 and 16 October 2026 builds, and every number carries a thumbnail of its own shape above it. Pick a number and the next cluster you place is that shape. Scale -/Scale +. Makes the cluster you are holding smaller or larger before it goes onto the lid.Rotate Left/Rotate Right. Tilts it, so a cluster can follow the slope of the lash line instead of sitting flat against it.Undo. Takes back the last placement. A misplaced cluster is quicker to undo than to nudge back into place.Mirror Lashes. Copies the set on one eye onto the other. This is the button that makes a two-eye set cost one eye's worth of work.Close Eyes. Shuts the model's eyes so you can see the set as it sits when the lid is down.Remove. Sits besideUndoin the 12 and 16 October rows. Whether it takes the selected cluster or the last one placed is not shown, so select before pressing.Top lashes/Bottom lashes. Added at the right end of the row by the 16 October build; see the bottom-lash section below.Colour · VIP. Sits underBack to Makeupin the 16 October build. The label ties cluster colour to VIP; what the button does when pressed is not recorded here, so this page claims only that the button exists.
Above the row there is a status line, and it names the eye you are working on: Top lashes · 62% · 0° · 4/40 placed in the 16 October 2026 build, and Next cluster: 100% 0° 0/40 placed in the 10 October one. The percentage is the scale of the cluster you are holding, the degree value is its rotation, and the counter climbs with every placement. The 40 is a ceiling rather than a target: the 12 October build prints up to 40 per look above the close-up.
Placing a cluster so it stays on the line
- Pick the number first. The status line switches to that preset's scale and rotation, which is the readout you will be steering.
- Set the scale before the angle. Size decides which stretch of lash line the cluster can cover; rotate a cluster that is too big and it still overhangs.
- Rotate until the readout matches the lid. The degree value is what you are changing, and the cluster should sit parallel to the line you are placing it on rather than across it.
- Place it, then look before placing the next. A good placement sits flush along the base with the tip clearing the lid; a bad one leaves a gap under the base or crosses the crease.
Undorather than chase it. Dragging a placed cluster around usually lifts one end; undoing and re-placing costs one press.- Work along the whole line before changing preset. Switching cluster numbers mid-line is what makes a set look like separate pieces rather than one set.
Finish one eye, then mirror it
Do not build both eyes in parallel. In the 9 October recording the player built one eye cluster by cluster, pressed Mirror Lashes, and the set appeared on the other side.
- Finish the eye you started, including the inner corner and the outer tip, before touching the mirror button.
- Press
Mirror Lashes. What was built on one side is copied to the other. - Check both eyes at full-face distance, not in the close-up. The close-up hides a set that reads lopsided at runway zoom.
- Break the mirror on purpose when the theme asks for it. A one-sided graphic or an asymmetric statement eye has to be placed by hand on the second side.
Bottom lashes are the same station with the row flipped
The 16 October 2026 build puts a Bottom lashes button at the right end of the row, where Top lashes sits while you work on the upper line. Pressing it switches the station to the lower line: the status line changes to Bottom lashes · 22% · -5° · 16/40 placed and every thumbnail in the row flips so the spikes point down.
- The counter did not reset when the station switched. The same 16 October session reads
4/40on the top line and16/40after the clusters went onto the bottom one, so the ceiling covers the whole look rather than each eye. - Place the lower set after the upper one. The lower line sits under the eye and reads at runway distance, so it is the part to add when the prompt mentions the lower lash line and the clock still has room.
- A bottom cluster is not a smaller top cluster. Because the thumbnails flip, the same number gives a different silhouette on the lower line; check the shape after switching rather than reusing the number you liked on the top.
Close Eyes is the check, not the finish
A lash set looks right with the head still and the eyes open. Close Eyes shows it with the lid shut, which is where the two common faults appear: a cluster placed too high floats off the lid, and one placed too low sinks into it.
- Close the eyes and look along the base of the set, not at the tips.
- Open them and pull back to the full face to judge volume against the eyeshadow you already placed.
- Fix one cluster at a time with
Undoand a fresh placement, adjusting scale before rotation.
A lash map you can build out of three zones
A lash map is a plan for which cluster sits where along the lash line before you start placing. The station will not let you lay out a whole map at once, so the practical map here is the order you work in. Split the line into three zones and give each one a job:
- Inner corner. The shortest cluster, scaled down so the set does not poke into the tear duct.
- Middle. The cluster that sets the volume of the whole set, and where most of the placements go.
- Outer corner. The one that extends the eye; rotate it up and out, and scale it up if the theme wants a lifted look.
Then run the order: inner zone on one eye, middle, outer, and mirror once at the end. Alternating between eyes doubles the work and makes the two sides harder to match.
You do not have to guess which number is the short one, because the row prints a silhouette above every number. Reading the 16 October 2026 row left to right, the narrow low fans sit at Cluster 1, Cluster 2 and Cluster 6, the wide dense fans at Cluster 4 and Cluster 5, and the last two read as curved strokes rather than fans. Those readings come from a compressed recording, so treat the thumbnail in your own session as the authority: what this page cannot tell you is how a shape that looks short in the row will land on your eye.
Removing a cluster, and getting the whole set off
Deleting a cluster is not the same action as wiping paint off the face. Wipe clears pigment on the selected layer, and no recording checked here shows it clearing a cluster.
- The station's own
Remove. The 12 October row carries aRemovecontrol. The recording shows the button, not which cluster it takes, so select the cluster you want gone before pressing it. Undowhen the row has no Remove. The 10 October row does not show one, and in that build Undo is the only control the recording shows for taking a placement back.- Clearing clusters is not the same job as taking off a lash item. Accessory lashes are removed inside
Adjust Fitin Style Studio; the route for those is on the hair and lashes page.
Time, credits, and when to skip the lashes
The station spends round time, and it is the slowest thing in the round to do well. In the 10 October recording the mode opens with a prompt that reads Add more time? When your credit arrives, tap Use credit. Unused credits are kept. with a Use 1 credit: +2 minutes button under it. How a credit arrives and what one costs is not shown in any recording checked here.
So the decision is per theme rather than per round:
- Theme about the eyes — liner, shadow, shimmer, colour: build a set, and keep the brows and lips simple with the minutes you have left.
- Theme about the brows or the lips: skip the station entirely, wear an item from the Lashes tab, and spend the saved minutes on the feature the prompt names.
- Almost out of time: place the outer-corner zone on one eye and mirror it. An outer-corner set reads from the runway camera; a half-built full set does not.
Six things that go wrong
| What you see | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Only one eye has lashes | Mirror Lashes was never pressed, or was pressed before the first eye was finished |
Finish one eye completely, then press Mirror Lashes and check both at full-face distance |
| The set floats off the lid with the eyes closed | The cluster sits too high, or was rotated flat across the line | Press Close Eyes, Undo that cluster, scale it down and rotate it to follow the line |
| A cluster will not sit flush | It is too large for that stretch of the line, or overlaps its neighbour | Take Scale - down once or twice and re-place instead of nudging the placed cluster |
| The set vanished | Undo or Remove was pressed |
Undo again if the control allows it; otherwise the set has to be rebuilt, so build before the last minute |
| No clusters anywhere | You opened the Lashes tab in Style Studio, which sells finished lash items |
Close it and press Lash Tech Mode on the bottom bar instead |
| The round ended mid-set | The station is slower than it looks: the player in the 10 October recording calls lash grafting the most time-consuming part of her round | Place the outer zone only and mirror, or take the credit prompt's two extra minutes when it appears |
What this page does not claim
- Which shape suits which eye. The row prints each silhouette, but how it lands on a face is a styling decision, not a recorded fact.
- What
Colour · VIPunlocks. The label is recorded; the button's effect is not. - That clusters and Style Studio lash items combine. Nothing checked here shows both worn at once.
- What a credit costs or how it arrives. Only the prompt's own wording is recorded.
- That the row stays the same. The frames read for this page come from 9 to 16 October 2026 builds; the listing renamed itself to
[UPDATE COMING SOON]on 18 October and the build moved again on 24 October, so check the labels in your own session. - That mirroring suits every theme. It is the default because it is faster, not because symmetry scores better.
