The screen has three control areas
Every control in the vanity screen belongs to one of three areas. Knowing which area owns a tool is what turns a hunt into one click.
| What you want to do | Control | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| Change the head the face is built on | Heads, on a tile with a head icon |
Left column, on a pink tile with a head icon |
| Pick what you paint with | Foundation, Concealer, Liner, Brow Pencil, Lipstick and the rest |
Left column, a list you scroll with the arrows at its foot |
| Copy a stroke to the other side | Mirror |
Left column, the last entry below the paint products — not the right panel |
| Change the colour | Colour Picker and the swatch rows |
Right panel, under the brush sliders |
| Soften or rub out paint | Blender, Wipe, Undo, Redo |
Bottom bar, first row |
| Move the camera | Toggle Zoom, then Front and the arrows, with + and - |
Bottom bar centre; the view controls appear once zoomed |
| Leave the paint tools | Lash Tech Mode, Hair & Lashes, My Lookbook, Lighting |
Bottom bar; each one opens a different screen |
| Change the round type | Freeplay: FREE, and a Competition dropdown in the 11 and 12 October builds |
Second row of the bottom bar, beside My Lookbook, Lighting and Hair & Lashes |
Why the blender is so hard to find
The blender is the most-asked-about control in the comment threads this page was written from. One viewer wrote that they had been looking for the blender everywhere and could not find it; another answered that it sits at the very bottom, between Wipe and Lash Tech Mode.
That answer matches the screen. In the 10 October 2026 recording the bottom bar reads, left to right, Wipe, Blender, Lash Tech Mode, then the view controls, then Undo and Redo on the right. It is not in the left column: that column holds the products you paint with, and the only entry at its foot that is not a product is the Mirror switch.
What the blender does: it softens what is already on the layer you have selected. Hard liner edges and an over-drawn brow are the two places the recordings use it. Press it, drag over the edge, and the line loses its edge instead of growing a second line beside it.
To stop using it, pick another entry from the left column. The recordings show no separate off switch: while the blender is active it is the highlighted button on the bar and no product is highlighted in the list, and as soon as a product is picked the highlight moves back to the list and the next stroke paints again.
Finding it is half the job; the sizes and the order to use it in are on the blending guide.
The left column is a catalogue, not a toolbar
The left column scrolls and holds more entries than fit on screen at once, which is why two players can be looking at the same column and see different names. Across the 9 to 12 October 2026 recordings it shows both the entries that change the avatar and the products that change the paint:
- Avatar-level entries:
Skin Tone,Eye Colour,Hair,Lashes,Rhinestones VIP,Setting Spray. - Paint products:
Foundation,Concealer,Contour,Blush,Highlighter,Liquid Highlight,Liner,Brow Pencil,Eyeshadow,Lip Liner,Lipstick, and the rest of the list below them.
A recording uploaded on 26 October 2026 shows one entry the 9 to 12 October recordings do not: Heads, a tile with a head icon in the left column. Read at 00:55 of the recording cited in Sources below. The panel behind it was not opened in any frame this page checked, so what it offers is not stated here. It is the closest thing found so far to the name the listing carried that week, Makeup Mania! BETA [MALE HEAD], and a matching name still proves no mechanism.
Two of those entries do not paint at all. Skin Tone and Eye Colour open their own windows with a colour wheel, a brightness or luminance slider and a hex field. If you are looking for a colour wheel and the right panel only shows swatches, the wheel is behind one of these two entries.
The entry at the very foot of the column is a switch rather than something you paint with: Mirror. In the 12 October 2026 recording the list ends on it, and it is highlighted while the symmetry is on. The right panel does not carry it — the toggle printed there is DRAWING ASSIST, which holds paint inside the face boundaries instead of copying a stroke across it. A player asking under the 5 October 2026 guide how to turn Mirror off was told to scroll the tool list to its last entry and click Mirror; that is where it sits.
This page does not claim a fixed order for the column. The recordings scroll it to different positions and the game has shipped a build since; what matters is that both kinds of entry live in the same column.
Where the colours actually are
The palette is on the right, and it does not carry the word palette. The panel shows Colour Picker, then a heading, then rows of swatches with the tabs Classic, Neon VIP and Metallic VIP, and below them Custom colour and My Saved Palette.
The heading above the swatches is the part that confuses people, because it renames itself to match the product you picked. At 00:35 in the recording it reads CONTOUR COLOURS with Contour selected; at 00:46 it reads COLOUR with a lip product selected. A player scanning for a section called Palette can look straight past it.
When the swatches do not have the colour you want, Custom colour opens the wheel and the hex field. When you have mixed a colour you want to keep, My Saved Palette is where it goes.
Layers, brush size and strength
The right panel also decides how a stroke lands, and its controls are stacked in reading order: LAYERS 1/4 with Add layer, then BRUSH SIZE, then STRENGTH, then the colours.
Two lines of note under the layer list are worth reading once: higher layers sit on top, and Blend and Wipe only touch the selected layer. That is the whole rule behind a stroke that will not soften or will not come off: the layer you are working on is not the layer holding the paint.
Brush size answers the other common complaint, that a liner or lip product goes on far too thick. Select the product, then pull BRUSH SIZE down before the first stroke.
One exception is worth knowing before you go looking for a slider that is not there: with the Brow Pencil selected, the BRUSH SIZE slider is gone from the panel while STRENGTH stays. The brow page covers what to use instead.
Zoom, the front view and the camera
Toggle Zoom sits in the middle of the bottom bar. Once the view is zoomed, the view controls appear beside it: Front with an arrow on each side to turn the head, and + and - to move closer or further out.
The top bar has a second camera control, Focus, which switches between the close-up and the full face. That one belongs to the round rather than to the paint tools, which is why it is not on the bottom bar with the rest.
A phone player asking how to get a closer look was answered with exactly that pair: press Toggle Zoom, then +.
If a tool is still not there
Work through this order before assuming the game is broken.
| What you see | What is actually happening | What to press |
|---|---|---|
| The whole makeup panel is gone and two eyes fill the screen | You are in Lash Tech Mode, which replaces the panel rather than opening over it | Finish or leave the lash station; the recordings do not show which control closes it, so treat it as a screen you enter on purpose |
| The brush size slider has disappeared | The Brow Pencil is selected, and that product ships without a size slider | Use strength and short strokes, or switch product if size matters more |
| A hair or lash item list opened instead of a brush | Hair & Lashes opens Style Studio, which sells items rather than painting them |
Close it and use the left column for paint; the hair and lash guide covers fitting items |
The round clock is not running and the button reads Freeplay: FREE |
You are in Freeplay, which has no timer and no runway | Use it on purpose to learn the bars, then pick a competition round when you want a scored one |
| The swatches show no colours at all | Reported by one iPhone player; the cause is not known and this site cannot reproduce it | Check on another device before assuming your account is the problem |
On a phone
The bars keep the same roles on a phone, with the bottom bar along the bottom edge of the screen; that is the layout players describe in the comment threads. No phone recording was available while writing this, so the exact position of each button on a phone is not something this page states.
What the two recorded phone reports agree on is the order of checking: the tool you are missing is usually on the bottom bar, and the colours are in the right panel under whatever heading the selected product happens to use. One player on iOS reported that the palette showed no colours at all after restarting and rejoining; that is a single report and this page has no fix for it.
What this page does not claim
- A fixed order for the left column. The recordings scroll it and the game has shipped a build since they were made.
- The exact phone layout. No phone recording was read; phone statements here come from comments and are marked as such.
- Why one player's palette was empty. A single report, no reproduction.
- How to leave Lash Tech Mode. None of the recordings shows the exit control.
- Console or controller behaviour. Nothing checked here covers it. Whether the experience runs on a console at all is covered in the download and devices guide, where it is marked unverified too.
- That these labels are permanent. The listing renamed itself to
[UPDATE COMING SOON]on 18 October 2026 and shipped a build on 20 October; the newest recorded interface on this site is from 12 October.
